Invisible inc experienced12/31/2023 ![]() Okay so I think I figured out my exact problem as this is the fourth time I've done an experienced run and I keep finding myself in this predicament. Keep in mind that if a door is closed while in a guard's yellow or red line-of-site, they will come to investigate. Just remember to either move the targeted agent to safety if you want to reopen the door - or expect the door to be broken if you keep it shut. However, your door agent can close the door to break the line of sight. This has resulted in my agent peeking over/around cover and firing their weapon to KO when they didn't have to. Overwatch (ranged): IIRC, overwatch will result in your agent firing their weapon when your agent and/or the guard ends up behind short (maybe all?) cover AND the guard would otherwise be visible to your agent if the cover was removed. This will cause you to KO the guard when not necessary. and depending on your position, have a melee or overwatch ready, even if you don't see a guard.Īmbush (melee): Suppose you're in cover, and the guard's patrol results in the guard moving past cover such that they're adjacent to your position without actually noticing you. If agent patrols change and I'm not able to confirm the locations of some guards, then that should prevent confidence level from reaching high. A few turns of this can add up to the equivalent of an extra turn of movement. If I had high confidence in my agent's position, then I'd take the shortest route possible regardless of cover. When playing Experienced, I tended to do this when I had moderate or less confidence that my agent's position would not be visible to a patrolling guard could have line of sight on me. Try your absolute best to stay behind cover when you end your turn, especially the earlier ones. In Experienced, do guards break down doors when noticing suspicious activity (yellow), when alert (hunting/targeting) an agent, or both? Its been quite some time since I've played this mode, but this distinction makes a big difference. ![]() Guards will try to take the shortest path possible - if you're out of AP to observe their next move, you might be able to figure it out manually this way. It's possible to sit an agent literally right next to a guard this way. Keep in mind guard blind spots, especially if they're about to turn around next turn. If you're trying to ambush a guard that's entering your room with an agent right beside (not in front of) the door, they will not get to do so if you have another agent within their view distance - as in, they will open the door and NOT enter the room and instead aim at that other agent. Try your absolute best to stay behind cover when you end your turn, especially the earlier ones - and depending on your position, have a melee or overwatch ready, even if you don't see a guard. ![]() Lose an agent? They'll show up at the next detention center Shock Traps are amazing because they ignore armor (as does the augment that knocks out guards when you turn Invisible). My personal exception to the above rule: If I want to keep the door and a guard is chasing me, I actually might not close it because I don't want him to break the door. Get in the habit of peeking through doors before opening them, and opening them from the side if possible. I often use agents to pin and drag a guard on the same tile to stop them from waking up - it is slower, but it is also safer.ĮMP packs and one of the unlockable character's special abilities actually kills the drone, which might be better for you ![]() Speaking of diagonals, you can go diagonally past cover (and certain other things) but not around walls. I don't know what tips you've read already, but I'll rattle off a few I've used a lot.įiguring out when you have half of an AP extra is useful since it only shows whole numbers as diagonals take up 1.5 AP I also usually only hack the camera drone if, say, we're near a fork and I can use the drone to do some scouting - otherwise I would leave it alone. ![]() Thankfully, like guards, you can pin them before they fully reboot in order to postpone their manhunt. Right, controlling drones is similar to knocking out guards, where you'll want to decide whether or not you actually want or need to depending on the situation - since after waking up, they'll be hunting you down forever. ![]()
